Salary: $72,000 per annum at 0.8FTE

We are seeking a motivated and community-focused professional to coordinate the National Bowel Screening Programme on the West Coast. This role works closely with iwi, health providers, and local communities to increase participation in bowel screening, with a strong focus on improving access and outcomes for Māori, Pasifika, and rural whānau.
Key Responsibilities

Support equitable access to bowel screening for priority communities

Build and maintain strong relationships with iwi, health providers, and community organisations

Collaborate with local partners to promote the programme and support outreach initiatives

Coordinate programme planning, monitoring, and reporting to track progress and outcomes

Develop and implement strategies and communication plans to effectively engage communities and increase participation in screening

Facilitate collaboration across the health system to support integrated service delivery

Identify barriers to participation and develop practical, innovative solutions to improve access
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:

Experience in programme coordination, community engagement, or improving access to health services

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies, communication plans, and engagement approaches to achieve programme outcomes

A strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application within the health sector

Excellent relationship-building and communication skills

Strong organisational abilities, with attention to detail and forward planning

Knowledge of public health approaches and effective community engagement

A relevant Level 4 qualification or higher
