Health Pathways Coordinator

Hours: 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week)
Contract: Fixed Term (17 November 2025 – 16 November 2026)

Salary: $55,000 pa (for 0.6 FTE)

West Coast Health (WCH) is a Primary Health Organisation and a non-government organisation (NGO) that exists to improve the wellbeing of the people of the beautiful West Coast. As a community trust we are governed by a Board of Trustees with representation from the health workforce, Māori health providers, iwi, and the local community. We’re looking for a Health Pathways Coordinator to support clinicians and health services across the Coast by localising, reviewing, and promoting Health Pathways. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to better healthcare experiences for people and whānau while working in a supportive, community-focused organisation.

About the role

As our Health Pathways Coordinator, you will:

  • Work with clinical leaders to localise and update West Coast Health Pathways.
  • Liaise with Health Pathways reviewers and Health NZ / Te Whatu Ora Waitaha colleagues.
  • Provide training and support to clinicians using Health Pathways.
  • Promote Health Pathways across general practice and health services.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement across the PHO.

About you

You will bring:

  • A strong understanding of health equity and responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Knowledge or experience in the health sector.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Strong self-management and IT skills (Microsoft Office essential).
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn.

Experience with Health Pathways or MS Teams would be an advantage, but not essential.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa for at least 12 months and must already be in the country to be considered for this role.
