West Coast Health offers this free service to support mothers and whānau throughout their breastfeeding journeys.
Breastfeeding may be natural, but it’s still a skill that both mum and baby learn together. Some situations can make breastfeeding more challenging and getting the right information and support at the right time is vital.
Our Breastfeeding Advocate provides Coast-wide breastfeeding support at any age or stage and for any kind of breast milk feeding.
Breastfeeding services our Advocate provides
- Breastfeeding assessments to help with problem solving
- Up to date resources to help you navigate through breastfeeding and parenting information
- Breastfeeding Education sessions, either before or after baby arrives, for individuals, whānau, or anyone supporting breastfeeding parents
Appointments can be at home or at West Coast Health (Greymouth or Westport). Phone and virtual consults also available, along with ongoing text support.
