West Coast Health offers a funded and free dietitian service to support individuals and whānau who have one or more of the following:

  • Pre-diabetes, previous diagnosis of gestational diabetes and type 2 diabetes.
  • High blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
  • Chronic Kidney Disease – Stages 1-3 (eGFR 30-89)
  • Families/whānau and youth referred by Registered Health Professional to improve health behaviours.

The dietitians at West Coast Health are non-diet dietitians who promote and support a shift from weight loss as a goal to a focus on building healthy habits and behaviours.

  • In-person dietitian appointments across the West Coast.
  • Telephone appointments.
  • Video appointments.
